– With an ambition to excel and push
boundaries, Francesco Fontana, TONI&GUY International Technical Artistic Director and Educational Technical
Director for Essensuals Hairdressing, has remained one of the fundamental members
of the TONI&GUY International Technical Team for nearly 16 years. With this
direction, Fontana, in partnership with L’Oreal Professionnel Philippines, has
come to Manila to impart with consumers and hairdressers the latest on haircut
and hairstyling techniques at the Hair Sessions with Francesco Fontana event.
Shortly after joining the company, TONI&GUY launched the Essensuals
salon group and Francesco took on the challenge of developing this new and
exciting brand, pioneering the colour excellence of TONI&GUY and introducing
new colour concepts in Essensuals salons.
Based at the TONI&GUY central London Academy, Francesco
teaches across all colour courses and plays an integral role in the development
of TONI&GUY’s globally renowned educational offering. His energy and passion for his profession
influences many of his aspiring students and proving his expertise with the
accolades he earned through the years.
As well as teaching in the Academy,
Francesco is in popular demand with his regular clients in Westfield White
City, the perfect location for his innovative and creative colour techniques,
with regular press requests from leading fashion titles such as Vogue, Elle and
Marie Claire.
Francesco’s stunning colour work is
published throughout industry press, including Hairdressers Journal, Salon
Business, Estetica and Creative HEAD, as well as consumer titles such as Look
and Grazia. He has been nominated as a
finalist for ‘Colour Technician of the Year’ at the British Hairdressing Awards
on multiple occasions (2005, 2006, 2007, 2011 and 2012), L’Oreal Colour Trophy
and Wella Trend Vision. Working closely
with TONI&GUY Global Creative Director Sacha Mascolo-Tarbuck and utilising
his unique take on colour development Francesco has been contributing to the
TONI&GUY annual educational collections starting in 2005 with ‘Identity’,
as well as in the Essensuals window advertising campaigns and is showcased at
key industry events including Salon International.
In addition to this, Francesco also
works alongside L’Oreal Professionnel and is part of the 20/20 Colour Expert
team which is made up of the top 20 technicians in the UK. The expert team
support hair dressers with educational training as well as focus on the link
between consumer and hair dresser by discussing with L’Oreal professionals what
they want to see in new product launches, new training and educational
techniques, as well as giving insights on fashion and colour trends.
The Internationally renowned TONI&GUY Technical Team represents a
culmination of talent and creativity that is the driving force behind the
global success of TONI&GUY. Their many British Hairdressing Award wins are
testament to their excellence. Seen as TONI&GUY’s finest, the International
