For the design, I love the combination of black and yellow, which gives it a rugged design which it actually is. It's very durable plus it's splash proof!
Another thing I love about it is you can answer calls by just pressing a button. It has a built-in mic so you don't have to pick up the phone when answering calls.
When it comes to playing music, it has a very loud and clear sound! It's not surround sound, but it is loud. Playback time is up to 4 hours(bluetooth), but longer when playing with aux.

Summing up songs that I'm currently listening to. I know not everyone has a premium Spotify account, so I opted to post links of either music video or lyric video instead. This is actually a mix of old and new released songs.

 I read somewhere that the music you choose defines your personality. Read below if you think so!

Perfume For All Occasions (Men & Women)

Today, I was able to do errands, attend an event, and even watched a movie, and have dinner! I feel so productive and spontaneous!

 The weather in Manila is blazing hot! and it's really hard to find something to wear that would at least make you look stylish and comfy. So I just went with my favorite black pants, Uniqlo Shirt, and a black jacket. It was pretty weird, because it rained even if it was REALLY hot and sunny.



I went to the launching of Commodity(perfume brand based in U.S.) at the Art of Scent in EDSA Shangri-La. I sniffed from all of their collection (Platinum, Black, Gold) in the store and was fascinated because all of their scents really have their own personality.
My favorite scents from their 3 collection are Book, Magnolia, Orris, Vetiver, Rain, Tonka, Moss. I got the Tonka that has a luxuriously sweet scent. It's really cool because almost all scents are Unisex. Only the Magnolia, and Gold leans more to the feminine side.

I was able to watch Ready Player One! You guys should see it too! It's really good, especially if play games. Had dinner at Gringo-ordered the Original Gringo Chicken. My FAVORITE!!!

My ACNE Story.

Let's talk about the thing that almost everyone of us has gone through or has been going through..ACNE.

Acne is usually caused by imbalanced hormones, poor lifestyle, or it's just in your genes-which is harder to fight. I am writing this blog post to share my acne story and what I do keep them from coming back.

I have an acne-prone skin, my t-zone is oily and my cheeks could get oily as well during the summer. Sometimes when I forgot to wash my fact at night, then in the morning I would wake up with a new pimple somewhere on my face.

I have tried a lot of different products just to heal my acne. My friends know how bad my skin gets because of acne and sometimes, it gives me insecurities especially when I see other people's face clear of acne without even trying! Do you feel me?!  There is this person that I asked how she maintained her skin free of acne, then she replied, "Tubig Lang". If I were to try that, I know my skin will not heal.

That's why I have this habit of going to drugstores twice a month to see if there is anything new in the market that could help me with my acne. I have tried lots and lots and products that has Anti-Acne on the label! I even tried taking anti-acne tablets without prescription, and it made my skin worse. I experimented a lot when it comes to achieving that clear skin.

And of course, after a pimple says bye, a scar says hello which is even worse! There I go again to the drugstore looking for products that would get rid of my acne plus acne scars! 

I know you would tell me, "Go to the derma!". Oh boy I did! I have tried a lot of clinics and even spent 27,000Php for a chemical peel that was done once a week even before my skin starts healing from the chemical peel made a week before they put another one which resulted trauma on my face and made it really red in a span of four weeks, it did not make my skin look like I spent thousands for it so my parents were disappointed because they paid for it. Hehe! And that derma clinic is not just a clinic, it a huge derma clinic owned by one of the famous dermatologist here in the country (DM me if you wanna know).

So when I said I've tried everything, that means EVERYTHING.

So as my blogging career grows, I became more insecure especially when talking to others when I have a huge pimple on my cheek. You have to look presentable and your face is the first thing people look at!

So this is where I discovered Svelt-I. Disclaimer! I AM NOT PAID to write this post. I just want to share this that could help you if you're suffering from acne because this clinic has helped me A LOT! If you've been following me on Instagram (@JosephTaborr), you would know that I always have my facial twice a week.

But first, let's talk how Svelt-I differs from the others and what I really loved about them, because I have been fighting my acne with them for a year now!!! When I first visited the clinic, my skin was assessed by Doc. Marj Lalaine Salazar(she is one of the prettiest doctor I ever met!). I like how you could really interact with the doctor and say what your problem really is and what you would like to do with your face.

I was advised to have my facial once every two weeks, because I have oily skin, and my skin tends to build up more blemishes if untreated. You would see that if you follow me on Instagram (@JosephTaborr).

Before, I tend to put a lot of products on my face, but I was given medicated cream to use. From using 5 products down to 2-3 products a day surprisingly made my skin feel more fresh and light. I was given an Acne Toner, Acne Cream, and Sunblock Gel. Their Acne Cream is a life saver and is really effective.

The thing is, all I needed was a great advise from a good clinic that has a mindset of really treating your skin and not just for the sake of earning money from their clients. They have this client that wants a certain treatment but was not advised by the doctor even if she really pays a big amount for it, because her skin would not really benefit from that treatment, and it's like wasting money. So I love how the clinic really gives what your skin and hard earned cash would benefit from!

Now, to my FACE. I know this would sound biased but, I have never been this happy with skin! You know there's a big difference if there are people who noticed it. My friends actually noticed how my skin has gotten clearer after sessions with Svelt-I, and I am genuinely happy every time they say it. 

Before, I have to use a lot of concealer just to cover those pesky zits, but now, I could step out of the door with just sunscreen on my face. I don't have to waste time putting on a lot of products on my face hoping it would work. I wake up happy because I could really see how my skin has changed every morning. There is really a big difference if dirt is extracted from your face compared to just washing and moisturizing it because just when you thought your skin looks great, there is actually dirt underneath that would turn to a pimple.

If you are struggling with your acne, all you need is a little help from a REAL doctor that has a goal of helping you and not just milking your pockets. 

 Too bad I don't have before and after photos to show you guys because I don't take that much selfies. But since my skin is getting better, I think I'll consider selfies. :)

Choosing The Right Sunscreen!

It's almost summer! and that means we have to protect our skin more from the harmful rays of the sun unless you wanna get skin darkening, uneven skin tone, dull skin, skin aging, and worse skin cancer! 

Getting a sunscreen is easy, but finding the perfect sunscreen that will suit your skin is hard. So I gathered some of the best sunscreen I have tried so you won't have to go waste your money buying the wrong one. I have combination skin (dry cheeks, oily t-zone), so if you ever have the same skin type as mine, then this is for you!

FACE

For the face, I always look for something that is Gel or Water Based sunscreen, because the problem with other types of sunscreen is it leaves a white cast making your skin uneven and really white and really oily. Another thing I look for is it should have a high SPF - 20SPF at least but it's better if you could go higher.

1. Biore UV Aqua Rich

This is one of the BEST that I've tried. It glides on your skin like water and is absorbed by the skin really fast and doesn't leave a white cast on your skin so your skin looks natural like you did not put anything at all plus it has SPF 50!

2. Belo Sunexpert - Face

Belo is a local brand, that really impressed me with their SunExpert line because there are only a few local brands I know who produces great sunscreen. This face sunscreen is really fast absorbing. It's water based, and it does not make you feel sticky or oily! The best part is that it's not as pricey as the Biore Aqua Rich but they deliver the same effect and feel. 

3. Pond's White Beauty - Daily Whitening Sun Protect

This one is perfect if you still want to whiten your skin while protecting it from the sun. This one has a little white cast but very little that it gives your skin a natural glow - plus it's matte finish so if you have oily skin, this one is good. It has the Pond's scent that everybody likes, but I would prefer the non-fragrance because some skin could react to it. But luckily, mine did not!

BODY

I'm so lazy putting on lotion or anything on my body because lotions are sticky especially in a tropical country like ours, it's really uncomfortable. But here are my super quick and non-sticky sunscreen that you could use just before you head out.

1. Nivea Sun Cooling Sun Mist

I'm not paid to say this but this is the best sunscreen ever! It's invisible & non-greasy and feels really cool on your skin plus it's a joy to use - spray it on your arms and spread then you're done. It's fast absorbing too. But the not so fun part is the big bottle. I wish it comes in a travel size bottle. SPF 50

2. Celeteque Face & Body Sun Defense Spray

Celeteque is a local brand but their quality deserves an international recognition. This sunscreen could be used on the face and body which is nice if you don't want to have a lot of stuff going on. This could be on my top 1 but it has a little oiliness to it because it has Vitamin E and Sunflower Oil. I would not use this on my face because of the oil. SPF 50

3. Vaseline Healthy White Sun+Pollution Protection

Okay this is a lotion, but it's fast absorbing and not oily, it's on my list because of the Pollution Protection that hey have. Sometimes it not enough for just sun protection, you also have to protect your skin from things that you're not aware that could damage your skin especially Metro Manila is super polluted.

4. Beach Hut Max 100SPF

This is perfect for water activities because of the high spf it has! This is definitely what I use when going to the beach or whenever I know that I'll be under the sun for a period of time. What I like about it more is it's non sticky considering the SPF is really high! This will forever be with me especially during travels.

HAIR

Surprised right?! I am too! Before, I didn't know that you have to shield your hair from the sun as well. But under your hair is your scalp that needs protection too. Maybe this is the reason why I tend to get dandruff a lot. 

1. Belo SunExpert Hair & Scalp Shield

If I have this on, my hair does not dry as much as when I don't, because it has vitamin E and SPF. It has a light fresh scent that keeps my hair smelling fresh even under the sun.

2. Vitress Hair Refresher

Okay, this doesn't have SPF but it smells really great!!! When you're walking under the sun, your hair will smell "Amoy Araw" not to mention the pollution, smoke, and sweat, it's the worst I swear. I've been enjoying using this because it smells like you just came out of the shower even if it's 1 PM!

Burger and Coffee Kind of Day.

This day, I went out to visit a burger joint and a café with the usual suspects JP, Kas, and Carlo(was a usual, but he is busy studying now).  The burger joint is just on its soft opening, which is a plus visiting first because the place still looks fresh and vibrant which is good for the photo! 

I ordered “The Cheeseburger” for Php210 only, and added a side of hand cut fries for just Php50. The burger was so good, but the fries…is ADDICTING! It has a hint of truffle oil and the crispiness was perfect! 

After eating, we took an Uber to OTO(Café) but sadly, it was close because they’re having a Christmas Party…in January! HAHA! But, there are cafes around the area, so we opted to walk to check which cafe looks good—then we found this small café Bean & Yolk. I ordered a cappuccino for Php135.

It was a chill day walking around the city catching up with friends. Would love to do it at least once a month! More photos below!

Glasshouse Cafe

New Year means time for new adventures! And that also includes my hunt for new cafes in town that offers not just aesthetically pleasing interiors but with a character as well. So my friend sent me a link to this newly opened café that looks like you’re not in Manila. We then decided to hit the café the day after next.



I really had high hopes for photos sent to me was actually nice without even the post-process. You know what? It did not disappoint me. It’s a glasshouse, so sunlight could actually lit the whole place which is what I really like especially for taking photos. The café is called Harlan + Holden. Which is actually a retail store.
But of course, don’t expect for the food to be cheap or something that you would want to eat at every day. But it’s reasonable. But for the coffee and other beverages, they’re averagely priced like the normal cafes at the mall.
 I will definitely revisit this place just for the photos actually because it’s nice. Anyways, my year started right but a little slow or I’m just in a hurry for something nice to happen? Hello, it’s just the 3rd of January. Haha! Btw, I’ve been listing my video ideas for my Youtube channel and will start filming soon(maybe tomorrow?)! I’ll update you once I posted my new videos.

These Accessories Will Make Your Phone More Useful!

We can do so much with our phones nowadays and with the help of some little accessories, the possibilities are endless! And we always carry our phones with us so most of the stuff we do for school or work is on our phone. So I will be sharing my current favorite phone accessories that is super useful for my everyday life!


1.  Camera Lens

I'm such a huge fan of clip-on lenses for mobile phones because you could take photos at a different angle by just clipping it on your camera.
This one is my favorite of all the lenses I have because it's high definition compared to other lenses that could make the photos a little bit hazy or blurry.

2.  Card Reader 
This is one of the most important accessories that I will ever need for my phone!  My camera before has no wifi connection, so transferring photos was such a hassle.
But with this card reader, you could just plug it into your phone and select the photos you want, then save it! It's actually faster than "wifi transfer". I never leave the house without it!

3. Selfie Ring Light


Super perfect especially at night when you want to capture something like your food when you're in a not well-lit place.

4. Basseus Powerbank
I just recently discovered this brand Basseus and I was really shocked with the items they have in store plus the price is really affordable and looks really sleek! My current favorite( I have a feeling it will always be! Haha!) powerbank is from them. 
It looks really sleek and the color is just so nice! It's not as big compared to other powerbanks with the same mAh. This one carries a 10,000 Mah battery. It's super affordable, priced at 990Phph!

5. Basseus Battery Case
This battery case from Basseus has been saving my life for a few weeks now! Especially when I'm on the go and when I'm moving around, cordless charging is the best! So this battery case packs a 5,000mAh battery and it charges my phone for up to 5 times! 
You know how iPhones sucks at battery life, right? This battery case from Basseus is super useful!
