TIMBUK2: A Bag that is Tough-As-Hell!

July 05, 2016

Okay, so everyone of us have our own stories on how hard the commuting-life in the Metro Manila is. We wake up everyday just to experience the bumper-to-bumper traffic in EDSA, busy people walking unconsciously hitting one another, the pollution that we have to inhale in the streets, and many more! And of course there are things that we need to bring with us just to get through the day.  If you're a student like me, you will know how hard it is to bring your stuff everyday in school. With all the things that I need to bring everyday, I surely will need a bag that is super tough yet stylish (well, I will not sacrifice style just to be tough. Haha!)

Fortunately, Timbuk2 elevates its presence to a whole new level with the launch of the first Timbuk2 Custom Bag Studio in Manila -  a shop mounted in collaboration with Bratpack Greenbelt 5. Imagine that! You could build a super tough bag that screams Y.O.U.!

As its name suggests, the Custom Bag Studio allows for complete personalization of Timbuk2 bags in addition to its selection of constantly evolving, limited edition styles and fabrics.

An open invitation to let loose and make a personal style statement, on offer at the studio are 9 different styles, 13 different sizes, 106 different colors, 30 different panels, and 43 different accessories, resulting in over 7 trillion permutations possible and available.

I know some of you may not be familiar with Timbuk2, so let me tell you what it is about. It was Founded in a San Francisco garage in 1989 by bike messenger Rob Honeycutt, Timbuk2 is a brand borne out of a dedication to the cycling community and the city. To this day, all Timbuk2 products remain to be manufactured in San Francisco’s Mission district – a reflection of its commitment to fostering access, opportunity, community, and craft. Above all, at the core of Timbuk2 is to drive urban progress by providing better products, thus shaping better communities and better cities.

This season, Timbuk2 channels its signature brand of service to the vibrant city of Manila as it unveils the first Timbuk2 Custom Bag Studio – the 15th shop among its global studios. Inspired by the eclectic character of the city, Timbuk2 taps fearless individuals of Manila who live and work without boundaries by giving them the freedom to express themselves completely. Open only from July to August 2016, the Timbuk2 Custom Bag Studio offers everyone a rare opportunity to own a bag that has been customized to reflect one’s unique style.

Anyone who is interested in having a custom Timbuk2 bag made may simply head over to the Bratpack Greenbelt 5 store where the Custom Bag Studio is located. Upon finalizing the elements and components of the customized design, the bag will be made in San Francisco and shipped out for pick up in 3 to 4 weeks.
