Levi's F/W 2016 Collection

July 13, 2016

What is your image of the good life? Financial independence, perhaps? Or a high-flying career, time and resources for travel and leisure, optimum health, and a happy family and friends to share the good life with?

Whatever makes life ‘good’ for you, Levi’s wraps it up with its new collection, adding a new element to the good life—good design. For Levi’s, iconic and fashion-forward pieces are all about good design, which, in turn, is what the brand’s new collection is all about as it enhances the quality of your lifestyle.

As Levi’s puts it, “lifestyle is the new luxury.”

In celebration of “the good life,” Levi’s will launch its Fall Winter 2016 Collection in a Press Preview to be held at Revel at the Palace on July 13. This collection features the authentic and iconic Levi’s designs we know and love, customized for different lifestyles and aimed at making lives better.

A revival of the iconic punk-rock denim 505™, 505™C is styled after the authentic jeans worn by punks, pop artists, and rock stars but better: the 505™C features today’s preferred cut—a slim straight leg.

Following the skinny trend for jeans, Levi’s Men’s Fits combines the contemporary look of tight jeans with the comfort of stretch. Men can go from the slim and heavyweight denim 511™Slim to “skinny made skinnier” 519™ Extreme Skinny.

Levi’s Men’s Tops, on the other hand, presents interesting variants—tees with that signature worn-in look and feel or tees that come in unique color vibrations or faded stripes or muted solids.

On a chilly day, consider layering Levi’s pieces. Choose from the Henley, the Zip-Front Hoodie, and the Classic Crewneck Sweatshirt, which are in bold hues or classic neutral shades.

For even colder weather or storm-swept times, gear up with jackets, parkas, and coats made from premium wool and with Sherpa lining—all from Levi’s classic outerwear collection.
As for the ladies’ options, Women’s Fits features the 700 Series—ideal slim-fit jeans for everyday wear.
For women who veer away from the skinny trend, Levi’s offers the 714 Straight for a timeless straight-up style; the 715 Bootcut, a leg-lengthening and slimming variant; and the Boyfriend, a feminine but laid-back design.

Trim your tummy and lengthen your legs by wearing denims from the 300 series and show off your curves by sporting contoured jeans from the 800 series.

Adding innovation to fashion, Levi’s Performance offers consumers next-generation performance fabrics in authentic Levi’s fits. Pieces from Levi’s Performance Stretch Jeans are styled with excellent recovery, so they retain their shape even longer while providing maximum comfort.

Over the years, the Levi’s brand has made iconic designs that have made its mark in different generations. This season, the brand aims not just to create remarkable clothing but to make lives better through their designs.

For Levi’s there is only one ultimate goal—the good life.

INTRODUCING THE LEVI’S® 505C
The 70s rock jean, remastered for today

Born in 1967, the 505 jean came of age in the 70s New York punk scene. Pop artists, graffiti writers and rock stars all wore them, tore them and thrashed them. Otherwise known as the unofficial stage-jean, the 505™ offers a lived-in, rocked-in, timeless fit.

The original zip fly, first created almost 50 years ago, the 505™ is one of our most popular fits for men and women. Beloved for its classic straight leg style and rigid denim, the 505™ is great for all body types. Worn snug like Debbie Harry, or as the Ramones did with a little custom tweak to the leg, the 505™ proved a big hit with the Big Apple’s younger crowd who were keen to wear this innovative take on the original 501® button fly.

Today we introduce the 505ÔC, a modernized and remastered take on the ageless 505fit. The ‘C’ stands for customized because our designers have created a customized straight leg with the perfect slim fit for today.

“The 505™ was a symbol of counter-culture. It rose to fame during an era of unrivaled creativity in art and music. We’re excited to introduce a modern and slimmer take on this classic. It’s equally and subversively sexy on both men and women,” said Karyn Hillman, Levi’s brand Chief Product Officer. “There’s no better time to launch the 505C. We noticed people are buying the 505Ô vintage, particularly girls, because the vintage 505Ô has a zipper, creating a flatter front, and it does that amazing Levi's® inverted heart, perky bum thing that vintage Levi's® do, so we wanted to recreate some of that.”

Fashion has seen a major return to vintage Levi’s® both on catwalks and on the street it's become a real staple. It just looks good. Seasonal trends toward vintage revival, authentic style and a “mom bum” make it all the more relevant.

Ripped jeans, which we take for granted now, were pioneered on the Levi’s® 505Ôjeans. The 505Ôis the infamous star on the front cover of the Rolling Stones' Sticky Fingers album and plays a part in the beginning of punk rock.

The birth year of the 505™ also coincided with Summer of Love and an explosion of culture in the West Coast. The late sixties was an incredible period for music, cinema, counterculture and civil rights, and the Levi’s® 505™ was introduced at that pinnacle moment in our hometown, San Francisco.
