Experiencing Surf Town, La Union

April 01, 2018

Oh Wow! I don't know how to start this blog post. But let me start with saying I would love to see La Union again!

We traveled to La Union during the Holy Week, and the traffic was REALLY bad! I would advise to travel at least a day before the holiday just to avoid the traffic. Trips on normal days would take 4-5 hours, but it took us 12 hours just to get there because of the bad traffic.

We took a stop over at Matutina's Restaurant for our brunch. You need to try their Bangus Kilawin. It was so good!

We reached Seabay at around 4pm. It was fun watching lots of people enjoying the sea. It has a tendency of being too crowded, so taking photos was a bit hard. :))

After all the fun at the beach comes my favorite part! Dinner Time! We headed to The Great Northwest food park to eat.

TRAVEL HACK!
Instead of bringing cash, I used my PAYMAYA (download app here) account by just scanning the QR codes of restaurants that I ate at. It's super fast! All you have to do is scan the qr code, enter the amount, and your done! No need to wait for change. Plus no fear of losing money.

Where We Ate!
Restaurants in La Union could be a bit pricey but you just really have to look around to find some of the most affordable but yummy food.

The Great Northwest - this place has a very chill vibe especially at night. This is the place where you could find the infamous Makai Bowls which is super perfect on hot summer days.
PS: BEST PLACE TO WATCH THE SUNSET.

Beach Bum Food Park - they have one of the most affordable food here at 100php for 2 sticks of bbq and rice. This place gets very busy at lunch but they have lots of available seats.

On our way home, we visited this beautiful temple that I never thought would exist in La Union.
